The Brandywine Treasure Trail Passport is back for 2022!
Happy #IndependenceDay from your friends at Delaware Historical Society! We're taking a much needed break today, but we'll be open to visit on Wednesday.
To commemorate and reflect upon the July 4th holiday, the Mitchell Center for African American Heritage invites you to experience a masterful delivery of one of Frederick Douglass’ most powerful and well-known speeches, “What to the Slave is the Fourth of July?” by actor Carlo Campbell.
On June 27, 1938, Delaware marked the 300th anniversary of the first Swedish settlement at what is now Wilmington with a festive, city-wide celebration.
We're taking over Wilmington and the Brandywine Valley's Instagram today! Their handle is @visitwilmingtonde and we have some behind-the-scenes looks at the fully-reopened Delaware History Museum for you today. Follow along at @visitwilmingtonde on Instagram to join in on the fun, ask us questions about the museum, and share your experiences!
You may be surprised to see this object in the collection of a historical society. It looks very similar to flags you may see in your neighborhood or community. If you visit Rodney Square this month, you'll see a similar flag.
