On this Memorial Day, pause to remember and honor the brave souls who made the ultimate sacrifice to defend the ideals and values of our great country. As custodians of history, it is our duty to reflect upon the significance of this important observance and pay tribute to those who have given everything for the ideals we hold dear.
Ladybug Music Festival is coming to Wilmington next week! Willingtown Square is located across from the museum and will feature several performances. Don't miss this fantastic women-fronted free music festival.
We're humbled by the incredibly positive responses to the launch of our new African American Resource Guide! Visit our website to see it for yourself.

Did you know that our Wilmington and New Castle museums are Blue Star Museums?
Today is #InternationalMuseumDay and we want to take a moment to celebrate the community of people that make DHS the organization it is. As many of our followers know by now, the *things* that make up DHS are a collection of nine historic buildings, Wilmington and New Castle museums, and over 3,000,000 objects. But what *really* makes DHS what we are are the myriad of supporters who make the difficult job of historic preservation and interpretation worth it all! From our dedicated Board of Trustees, to the person who made their first visit to the museum just yesterday, the people who love Delaware's history and want to keep it alive for all of us to enjoy and learn from are the real champions of our museums, and we're so grateful for their years and years of support!
